Deep Tissue Massage
What to expect:
The practitioner will use strong pressure, slow deep strokes and friction to release muscle tension.
How it helps:
When there is muscle tension or injury, there will usually be adhesions in the connective tissue. These adhesions can block circulation, limit range of motion and cause pain and inflammation. Deep tissue massage works by breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore range of motion.
What conditions it can help:
Deep tissue massage is especially helpful for: chronically tense and contracted areas, neck and lower back tightness, repetitive strain injuries (RSI), postural problems, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis
