Trigger Point Massage

Deep Tissue MassageWhat to expect:
During treatment, the therapist will use static pressure applied directly on the trigger point which will help to inactivate it. This usually will be followed by deep stroking and stretching to restore the natural resting length of the muscle.

How it helps:
A myofascial trigger point is a hyperirritable spot in a muscle that is associated with a sensitive nodule within a taut band. The spot is painful on compression and can give rise to characteristic referred pain and tenderness. A muscle with a trigger point is prevented, usually by pain, from reaching its full range of motion and will be restricted in its strength and endurance.

Deactivating the trigger point will help to decrease the amount of pain, therefore increasing mobility and strength of the muscle.

What conditions it can help:
Trigger point pain can be the cause of many issues including: headaches, jaw and facial pain, sciatica like pain, postural issues, neck and back pain, carpal tunnel like pain, and more.
